The China Ceramic Industry Association was established in September 1989. It is a national and industry-specific social organization formed voluntarily by enterprises, institutions, and individuals engaged in the production, design, research, education, circulation, collection, and other services related to the ceramic industry and products. In June 2017, the association officially decoupled from its former supervising unit, which was the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. In 2024, it was rated as a 4A level social organization by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
The main responsibilities of the association include: adhering to the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of the "Three Represents," the Scientific Outlook on Development, and Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Following market principles, it aims to establish and improve the self-regulatory mechanism of the ceramic industry and protect the legitimate rights and interests of its members. It implements national industrial policies, performs functions entrusted by the government, assists governmental departments in strengthening industry management, and extensively connects with relevant domestic and foreign industries, enterprises, and peer organizations, serving as a bridge and link between the government and enterprises, striving to serve the country, society, industry, and enterprises, and promoting the healthy and sustainable development of China's ceramic industry.
Currently, the association's work mainly includes:
1. Participating in the formulation of industry regulations and agreements, and organizing their implementation;
2. Drafting industry development plans entrusted by the government and proposing suggestions for industry development;
3. Conducting research on issues in industry development and proposing suggestions for relevant industry policies and regulations to governmental departments;
4. Participating in industry statistics work based on authorization, collecting, analyzing, managing, and publishing information, conducting statistical surveys in accordance with the law, establishing an e-commerce information network to provide a basis for government industrial policy formulation, and conducting information guidance and services for the industry;
5. Organizing outstanding enterprises, entrepreneurs, and ceramic artists within the industry to participate in industry competitions, as well as conducting commendation work for advanced member enterprises and individuals;
6. Participating in the formulation, revision, and implementation of national standards, industry standards, technical standards, economic standards, and group standards for the industry;
7. Collaborating with relevant departments to supervise product quality in the industry, participating in industry inspections, evaluations, and product certifications;
8. Receiving commissions from the government and relevant departments to conduct preliminary evaluations and post-project assessments for significant industry investments, renovations, and development projects;
9. Cooperating with relevant departments to analyze and coordinate the economic operation of the industry, establishing an early warning mechanism for the industry, and providing consultation services and organizing implementation work on formulating policies and regulations, protecting intellectual property rights, and addressing issues such as anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and unfair competition to maintain industrial safety.
